Business ideas for Downtown Vancouver, do you have one?

downtown Vancouver business ideas

Do you have a Great Idea for a Downtown business? Retail or Service? Or are you wondering how to start a business in Vancouver?

(Also posted to the Vancouver Business, Marketing, & Entrepreneur meetup group)

Very often I meet people who are tired of working for someone else (some people enjoy an enriching position, some people are just toiling away at a J.O.B.) and want the freedom of being an entrepreneur. Late Friday afternoon I received a very intriguing request from such a person – a new entrepreneur.

This person has a 1,207 sq foot street level retail store front around Pender and Richards, with a large front area and 4 offices in the back, and she is looking for ideas or a partner to develop her location into a profitable store.

And at the moment she doesn’t have any ideas or preference for what type of business as long as she covers the rent+ (upwards of $3,000 month, this will be a partnership) and learns to develops herself as a successful entrepreneur.

This opportunity is so incredible, essentially to have a downtown Vancouver location with reduced rent, that I had to send a mailing out to the business groups I run (the Vancouver Business, Marketing, & Entrepreneur meetup group) and ask the group what suggestions you have to make use of the space.

Do you have a dream business, or an existing business that will make an incredible amount of money, that the space will benefit from? It can be any type of business, service or retail, the challenge is….retail is difficult in the best of times and most of the financing that you bring to the table (yes, having an idea is not enough, you must be able to bring financial resources into the business) will be split between getting the business set up and MARKETING so people know that you are there.

I’ll be helping with the marketing and promotion, but as for the rest I’m open to your ideas, as long as you have experience, are fully financed to start up and willing to run the actual operation. You can email me at info@elevatedmarketing.ca.
