In the first part of Referral Selling we talked about what referral selling is. In the second part we talked about giving your clients tools to use when telling their friends about you.
Now, lets focus in more on giving your clients incentives to encourage their friends to actually come over and engage you and your business. People are “What’s In It For Me†operated and the best thing you can do is give your clients some actual perks and benefits to promote your business on your behalf.
Does this mean that you create a commission reward program to offer something to your clients when their friends buy from you? Maybe, however, in my experience, very few clients want money as a reward, most would much rather have a more intangible thank you.
Think about why your clients engaged you in the first place and what they would really appreciate from you. I’d suspect that most of your clients would prefer more mentorship or more of the live experience that you have been offering them.
For example, for most of you, it’s likely that if you set up an incentive program where if your clients friends signs up for your program, your clients also get to participate in a portion of that same program, they would be motivated to “sell youâ€. Or your client gets to join a community of other similar clients where they all get specialized coaching or experiences, or they get to be part of a special group of elite members, or something like that, that gives the experiences and mentorship as a reward, which is probably what they really want.
If you can tap into your clients hot buttons that makes them spread the word about your business to others and get those people to buy, then you’ll have clients coming to you with little effort on your part and will create a loyal following.
