Want to fall in love? Be relationship ready first.
Many people grow up with the notion that they will one day find “the one“, their princess in the castle, their knight in shinning armor. However, the older we get, it seems the more stale the fantasy becomes…”is there someone out there for me?”
The reality is that no, there is not some “one” out there for you, There are many people out there for you. It is possible for almost any couple to make their relationship work out, albeit some may be more challenging and take more work than others, but the statistics don’t lie.
The real challenge has really less to do with whether you’ll find someone, but rather how ready you are for any relationship that may happen when you do. Over the course of a year you’re likely to meet many members of the opposite sex you’re interested in, but how can you give yourself the best chances of finding romantic bliss?
I always tell my clients to stop thinking about men/women and take a good long look at yourself first. Would you date yourself? What are some reasons why you wouldn’t and what can you do to improve yourself so that you would?
Ask yourself whether you are able to keep a relationship in the long term right now? While many people question whether the newest person they just met is a candidate for them, most people do have an idea of what it would be like to be in a relationship with that person (yes, correct or not, we future project). If you can foresee that the relationship won’t work because of you, then ask yourself what can you do to get yourself ready? How will you get to the place where you can truly have a great future with a long term love interest?
What I do with my clients is firstly I help them understand their relationships with themselves, discover who they are and what they want. Then we build a future plan, with goals to hit for what an idea life would be, before they learn about how attraction works, how women think when it comes to attraction, and how to meet women to get into a relationship.
Being in a relationship can be blissful, but it can also be hard work. The more ready you are, the greater the chances are you’ll be happier with all the relationships in your life.
